The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Wednesday warned citizens about a rise in digital fraud involving fake SMS messages sent in the name of e-challan, urging them to remain vigilant

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Wednesday warned citizens about a rise in digital fraud involving fake SMS messages sent in the name of e-challan, urging them to remain vigilant.

According to a PSCA spokesperson, fraudsters are sending messages from different mobile numbers containing fake links to obtain citizens’ bank account details and deprive them of their hard-earned money.

The spokesperson clarified that official e-challan messages are sent only from “9915” and do not contain any links or instructions for online payments. He cautioned that any message—even from “9915”—asking for bank details, ATM card information or financial data should be treated as suspicious, as PSCA never requests such information via SMS.

Citizens were advised to avoid clicking on unverified links and refrain from making payments through suspicious websites. The spokesperson said that e-challan verification could only be done through the official PSCA website, while payments should be made via the e-Pay Punjab by generating a PSID.

He further said that all service providers had been notified to curb such fraud, while legal action against those creating fake websites in the name of Safe City had been intensified.

The spokesperson urged citizens to contact Helpline-15 (option 6) for further information regarding e-challan, adding that PSCA remained committed to protecting the public and taking strict action against those involved in fraudulent activities.
