PSDP 2025-26: Govt. authorises Rs835.64 bln development funds in 11 months

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) The government has authorised the utilisation of development funds amounting to Rs835.64 billion during the first eleven months (July–May) of the fiscal year 2025-26 under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), against a total federal allocation of Rs837.16 billion.

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives on Tuesday, the federal PSDP allocation for 2025-26 comprises Rs577.15 billion for federal ministries and divisions and Rs260.01 billion for corporations.

The data showed that federal ministries and divisions were authorised Rs575.63 billion during the period under review, while actual expenditure stood at Rs391.02 billion. For corporations, an amount of Rs260.01 billion was authorised, against which Rs138.80 billion was spent.

Among federal ministries and divisions, the highest authorisation of funds was made for Provinces and Special Areas, amounting to Rs197.465 billion, followed by the Water Resources Division with Rs106.640 billion and the Cabinet Division with Rs63.236 billion.

The Higher education Commission (HEC) was authorised Rs34.905 billion, Federal Education and Professional Training Division Rs26.604 billion, Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division Rs20.415 billion, Railways Division Rs18.558 billion, Information Technology and Telecommunication Division Rs16.503 billion and Housing and Works Division Rs13.446 billion during the July–May period.

Other notable releases included Rs12.213 billion for the Revenue Division, Rs11.

635 billion for the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division, Rs11.515 billion for the Interior Division, Rs9.026 billion for the Defence Division, Rs5.776 billion for the Industries and Production Division, Rs3.396 billion for the Science and Technological Research Division, Rs3.334 billion for the Information and Broadcasting Division, Rs2.611 billion for the National food Security and Research Division and Rs2.304 billion for the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division.

Smaller allocations included Rs1.583 billion for the Law and Justice Division, Rs1.469 billion for the Maritime Affairs Division, Rs1.448 billion for the Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Division, Rs1.395 billion for the Defence Production Division, Rs929.84 million for the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division, Rs915.25 million for the board of Investment, Rs718.58 million for the Petroleum Division, Rs580.88 million for the Finance Division, Rs503.38 million for the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) Division, Rs495.36 million for the Establishment Division, Rs400.38 million for the Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Division, Rs198.02 million for the National Heritage and Culture Division, Rs79.47 million for the Communications Division (other than NHA), Rs50 million for the Commerce Division and Rs23 million for the Human Rights Division.

For corporations, the National Highway Authority (NHA) was authorised Rs184.868 billion, while Power Division entities (NTDC/PEPCO) received Rs75.142 billion during the period under review.
