PU wins 1st position in HEC Tug of War competition

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Punjab University (PU) has secured first position and won the gold medal in the All Pakistan Higher education Commission (HEC) Tug of War (Men) Competition, while University of Central Punjab (UCP) obtained second position and University of Management and Technology (UMT) stood third.

The competitions, featuring participation from 16 teams representing 21 universities across the country, were held at Minhaj University Lahore. Punjab University outperformed all competing teams, securing victories in straight pulls throughout the tournament.

PU Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali termed the achievement an “excellent win” and congratulated Director sports Dr. Shabbir Sarwar, Team Manager Attique Khan, Coach Malik Imdad and the entire team for their outstanding performance.

Director Sports Dr. Shabbir Sarwar said the university had successfully defended its last year’s gold medal, securing a consecutive victory under the able patronage of the Vice Chancellor.
