Public holiday announced on May 1 for labour day

Educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will also remain closed.

The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on May 1 (Friday) on the occasion of Labour Day.

According to an official notification, the holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the provincial administration, except for essential services.

Educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will also remain closed in observance of the day.

Labour Day, also known as May Day, is observed worldwide every year on May 1 to show solidarity with workers and to recognize the rights of the labour class.

The day aims to promote efforts to protect workers and industrial labourers from exploitation and ensure their rights are safeguarded.
