Public rejected PTI’s politics of agitation: says Ikhtiar Wali Khan

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2026) Prime Minister's Coordinator for Information, Ikhtiar Wali Khan, Thursday said that the people of Pakistan have rejected the politics of agitation and unrest pursued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Speaking to a private television channel, he said that PTI had already staged 126-day sit-in in the past, adding that such plan could not put pressure on the Pakistan Muslim League (N).

He said that national issues should be resolved through dialogue and democratic engagement rather than through confrontation.

Ikhtiar Wali Khan further said that the administrative situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was alarming.

He noted that the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar and the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Gomal University had expressed serious concerns over the condition of higher education in the province, warning that the two major universities were facing severe challenges.

He emphasized that if PTI has any grievances or reservations, they should be addressed through negotiations with the government.

Dialogue has always been the hallmark of democratic politics, he added.
