RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) Punjab government has extended the ban on flying drones in open areas across the province for another 30 days under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
The restriction will remain in force in all districts, including Rawalpindi Division, with district administrations and police directed to ensure strict implementation.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, the ban has been extended in view of the prevailing security situation, the need to protect lives, property and sensitive installations, and to maintain law and order. During the restriction period, flying all types of drones in open areas will remain prohibited.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The notification, however, allows the limited use of small drones during events held at halls and marquees, provided that organisers assume full responsibility for their safe operation.
It further states that drones may be used for agriculture, irrigation, research and other authorised purposes only after obtaining written approval from the relevant District Safe Drone Usage Committee (SDUC). Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are exempt from the restriction.
The Rawalpindi Division administration and police have urged citizens to comply fully with the orders issued under Section 144 and warned that legal action will be taken against violators in accordance with the law.
