Punjab extends Section 144, bans outdoor drone flying for 30-day

The Punjab government has extended the imposition of Section 144 for 30 days, maintaining a ban on outdoor drone flying across the province until April 25 due to security concerns

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2026) The Punjab government has extended the imposition of Section 144 for 30 days, maintaining a ban on outdoor drone flying across the province until April 25 due to security concerns.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, the ban on flying drones in open spaces will remain fully enforced across Punjab. However, limited use of small drones will be allowed inside halls and marquees during indoor events, with organisers responsible for ensuring safe operation.

The notification issued by the department stated that intelligence and law enforcement agencies have been exempted from the ban. The spokesperson said the decision was taken in view of security concerns, emphasising that protection of public life, maintenance of law and order and safeguarding of property remain top priorities.

The Home Department has directed district administrations and police across the province to ensure strict implementation of the orders.
