FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) Divisional Sports Officer (DSO) Nadeem Qaiser said that Punjab government was making full use of all available resources to promote sports, develop athletes and revive sporting activities across the province including Faisalabad in line with the vision of Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Faisalabad Union of Journalists (FUJ) led by Sports Committee Chairman Chaudhary Fatehullah.
Administrator Al-Fatah Sports Complex Habib Dhakku, along with FUJ Sports Committee members Syed Naseem Shah, Mirza Naeem Baig and Syed Sadaqat Ali Shah, was also present on the occasion.
DSO Nadeem Qaiser said that significant measures were being undertaken during the current financial year to resolve long-standing issues facing the Crescent Sports Complex and Al-Fatah Sports Complex for enabling athletes to benefit from improved sports facilities.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said that the government was also moving ahead with key development projects including the installation of an Astroturf at the hockey ground of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and completion of the athletics track project on Jhang Road, which would help strengthen sports infrastructure and provide better training opportunities for players.
He reiterated the government's commitment to create a conducive environment for healthy sporting activities and ensure that modern facilities were made available to athletes across the division.
Speaking on the occasion, Habib Dhakku said that ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities at Al-Fatah Sports Complex would be completed during current month. The improvements would enhance services for athletes and sports enthusiasts, he added.
