LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Punjab Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique on Tuesday said the provincial government accorded great respect to scholars of all schools of thought and considered the security and stability of the state its top priority.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi and Chairman Muttahida Ulema board Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori at the Punjab Home Department. Secretary Home Punjab Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, Secretary Auqaf Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, Special Secretary Faisal Fareed, Chairman Charity Commission Shehzad Amir, Additional Secretary Special Initiative Abdul Rauf and others also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the law and order situation and promotion of inter-sect harmony.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said the Punjab government valued the role of religious scholars in maintaining peace and promoting unity among Muslims.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Home Punjab Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi said respected religious scholars always preached peace, tolerance and mutual harmony in society. He said guiding people according to the true spirit of islam was a great service rendered by the Ulema.

Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi said the role of religious scholars was highly important for strengthening the state. He welcomed the efforts of the Punjab government aimed at promoting unity among different schools of thought.
