Punjab govt prepares new act for employment abroad

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) The Punjab government has prepared a draft of the Punjab Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Authority Act 2026 to provide better employment opportunities to the youth abroad.

Official sources told APP that under the new act, a comprehensive strategy will be introduced for the development of skills in the province, while all the institutions of skills development will work under a new authority.

They said that this authority will effectively monitor policy making, quality setting and the system, while bringing various institutions on a single platform and ensuring reforms.

Official said that under the new act, a complete skill mapping will be prepared and recommendations for modern training models will be formulated, so that youth can be trained according to world standards.

In addition, international skill certification programs will be launched, which will increase job opportunities for Pakistani youth abroad.

Officials say that this act will promote training programs, investment and global cooperation, while playing an important role in economic transformation and development of a skilled workforce in the province.

This initiative will help improve the quality of skills in Punjab at the global level.
