Punjab Minister inaugurates model village project in Daska

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Punjab Minister for Local Government Mian Zeeshan Rafique on Tuesday said the province was progressing on the path of development under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, with equal focus on urban and rural areas.

He was speaking at a ceremony in Jandu Sahi village, Tehsil Daska, where the foundation stone of a Model Village Project was laid.

The minister said the initiative aimed to transform the village into a model rural community, adding that decades-old streets would be reconstructed on a priority basis.

He said the government was committed to fulfilling its promises and ensuring provision of basic facilities to the public.

Several local notables attended the event.

Minister for Local Government Rafique said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had always prioritized public welfare, adding that development work in Daska had remained neglected in the past. He said all available resources were now being utilised to improve infrastructure in the area.

He announced that development projects in the village would be completed by June 30,2026.

Commenting on the broader situation, he expressed hope for peaceful resolution of international tensions and said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was playing a constructive diplomatic role.
