Punjab minister orders swift completion of furniture market beautification in Chiniot

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan has ordered for speedy completion of beautification of the historic Furniture Market in Chiniot.

He along with Adviser to the Chief Minister (CM) Zeeshan Malik visited the Furniture Market Chiniot and reviewed the progress of its ongoing beautification project.

Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chiniot Madam Ayesha Rizwan and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

During visit, the divisional commissioner briefed the delegation about the project's progress and said that beautification of Furniture Market Chiniot has entered its final phase under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.

She said that most components of the beautification scheme had been completed. These included the renovation and restoration of the Municipal Committee Mosque, beautification of the front façades of 135 shops, rehabilitation of 2,000 square feet of tuff pavers, construction of a parking plaza for 110 motorcycles, decorative woodwork, installation of uniform signboards outside shops, construction of a storm-water drainage system, cable trays, sheds, Victorian-style poles, and completion of the boundary wall of library Park, she added.

She informed the delegation that work on the main entrance gate of the Furniture Market and Municipal Committee gate had reached the final stage and would be completed shortly.

The provincial minister and the chief minister's adviser appreciated the quality of the beautification work, describing it as an important initiative to improve the city's commercial infrastructure, preserve the identity of the traditional furniture market and provide better facilities for traders and visitors.

They expressed satisfaction over the quality of development work aimed at transforming the city's renowned commercial hub.

They also met shopkeepers who expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz for undertaking the beautification project.
