Punjab Police have kicked off its annual Inter-District Sports Competitions, accompanied by province-wide training camps and a Talent Hunt Programme to identify and nurture skilled players for national and international events

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) Punjab Police have kicked off its annual Inter-District Sports Competitions, accompanied by province-wide training camps and a Talent Hunt Programme to identify and nurture skilled players for national and international events.

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Director General Police Sports board and Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad has announced the schedule for the competitions, which aim to promote sports activities and discover new talent within the force.

Training camps have been set up across Punjab to provide players with adequate preparation, while competitions at district and unit levels will be used to select the best players for formation of police teams.

Chief Sports Officer and RPO Sheikhupura Athar Ismail Amjad said that selected teams would represent Punjab Police in national and international competitions, and talented players would also be provided opportunities to join national teams.

The spokesperson said that competitions would be held in various sports, including cricket, archery, baseball, athletics, boxing, kabaddi, bodybuilding, weightlifting and hockey.

He added that the Pakistan Police sports Calendar was affiliated with the Olympic Association, and the talent hunt programme would continue across all districts to bring emerging players to the forefront.
