Punjab Police, NADRA ink information-sharing agreement to enhance crime control, biometric services

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) A signing ceremony for an information-sharing agreement between Punjab Police and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was held at the Central Police Office with Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem as the chief guest.

Chief Project Officer, NADRA Directorate Headquarters, Rehman Qamar, along with his team attended the ceremony. The agreement was formally signed by DIG Information Technology Mansoor-ul-Haq Rana and Chief Project Officer NADRA Rehman Qamar.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, under the agreement, NADRA will provide modern facilities to Punjab Police including fingerprint matching, biometric verification, CNIC details, family tree information, FRC verification and other advanced identity services.

These technological facilities will help further improve the arrest of criminals and miscreants, strengthen community policing and enhance the overall service delivery system of the police.

DIG IT Mansoor-ul-Haq Rana gave a detailed briefing on the practical benefits of the services being provided by NADRA and said that the integration of modern technology would significantly improve the quality and effectiveness of policing.

IGP Punjab Abdul Kareem appreciated NADRA’s cooperation in providing technical support for crime control, community policing and public services, terming the agreement an important step towards ensuring a safer Punjab.

At the end of the ceremony, Chief Project Officer NADRA Rehman Qamar presented commemorative souvenirs to IG Punjab Abdul Kareem and DIG IT Mansoor-ul-Haq Rana. DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
