Punjab to Build AI and Robotic Lab in Sialkot School-Education Minister

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat on Thursday announced the establishment of a modern AI and Robotics Lab at Government High School Dalowali in Sialkot within six months at a cost of Rs45 million.

Addressing the annual ceremony after formally launching the school enrollment drive, the minister also announced the establishment of a new girls’ college in the Dalowali area next year to facilitate female education.

Upon arrival, the minister was presented with a guard of honour by Scouts and Girl Guides. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Punjab Land Authority and MPAs Chaudhry Tariq Subhani and Shakeela Arthur, along with Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali.

Rana Sikandar Hayat distributed prizes among position-holding students and, in a personal gesture, presented gifts to teachers and students from his own funds. To encourage youth entrepreneurship, he also purchased garments worth Rs100,000 from e-commerce students using his personal funds.

The minister said that, following the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the government was modernizing the public education sector through technology. He announced that Google Training Programs would be introduced in all high and higher secondary schools across Sialkot this year to equip students with global digital skills.

Highlighting the government’s broader vision, he said the Primary mission was to elevate the quality of education in public institutions to match or surpass that of private schools. He added that special focus was being placed on female enrollment in non-formal schools, noting that 380 non-formal schools were currently operational in Sialkot, providing education to over 10,000 children.

Rana Sikandar Hayat reaffirmed the government’s commitment to preparing public school students for future global challenges by providing modern facilities and high-tech learning environments.
