Punjab to introduce high-tech security system to eradicate crime

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) The Punjab government has decided to introduce a high-tech security system to eradicate crime, under which modern automated drone technology will be made a part of the policing system.

After the approval of this project by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, practical steps have been started.

According to official sources, in the initial phase, an automated docking drone pilot project will be launched in Lahore, for which 20 modern drones have been approved. The locations of drone stations will be determined after a survey of crime hotspots.

Under the project, automated drones will immediately reach the scene of the crime as soon as information about the crime is received. The drones will collect video evidence and return to their docking stations under an automated system. These modern drones are being ordered from China for the Punjab Police.

Officials say that this modern drone surveillance system will not only enable effective monitoring of crimes but will also improve immediate response. This move is expected to bring significant changes in the smart policing system in the province.
