Qatari Amir felicitates PM on successful diplomatic efforts to ensure Iran-US ceasefire

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday received a telephone call from Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar.

During their most warm and cordial conversation, the amir of Qatar congratulated the prime minister on Pakistan’s successful diplomatic efforts that have led to the Iran-U.S. ceasefire, as well as negotiations between the two sides, in Islamabad.

While thanking the amir for his appreciation of Pakistan’s sincere and genuine mediation efforts, the prime minister lauded the wisdom and sagacity of the Qatari leadership, that has exhibited exemplary restraint, despite facing continuous attacks over the past six weeks.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar and assured the Amir that both countries would always stand shoulder to shoulder, through thick and thin.

The two leaders expressed the hope that, through concerted efforts, peace would return soon to the entire region.
