Quraysh Banu Hashim Club wins 3rd IG Punjab Tent Pegging Cup 2026

As many as 44 teams from across the province participated in the Third IG Punjab Tent Pegging Cup 2026, organised by Punjab Police at the Punjab Constabulary Headquarters, Farooqabad, featuring thrilling competitions in single, double and four-rider categories

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) As many as 44 teams from across the province participated in the Third IG Punjab Tent Pegging Cup 2026, organised by Punjab Police at the Punjab Constabulary Headquarters, Farooqabad, featuring thrilling competitions in single, double and four-rider categories.

Commandant Punjab Constabulary and Additional IG Hussain Habib Imtiaz was the chief guest while DIG Training Rao Munir Ahmed Zia, Deputy Commandant DIG Syed Amin Bukhari, AIG Training Zohaib Ranjha, SSP Headquarters Adeel Shakoor and other senior officers also attended the ceremony.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, horse riders from 44 teams across the province took part in exciting tent pegging competitions in single, double and four-rider categories. Quraysh Banu Hashim Neza Bazi Club, District Sargodha, displayed outstanding performance and won the IG Punjab Tent Pegging Cup, while Jatt Badshah Neza Bazi Club, District Rawalpindi, secured second position and Waris Ghazi Ravi Club, District Faisalabad, obtained third position.

Commandant Punjab Constabulary Hussain Habib Imtiaz awarded Rs100,000 cash prize and the winner’s trophy to the first position holder Mian Fayyaz Ahmed Qureshi.

The second position holder was awarded Rs75,000 while the third position holder received Rs50,000 along with a trophy.

A large number of police officers, personnel, local dignitaries and citizens attended the event, where horse riders demonstrated remarkable speed and skill in tent pegging and received great applause from the audience.

Rescue 1122 and the Mounted Squad of Punjab Constabulary remained on high alert throughout the event, the spokesperson added.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional IG Hussain Habib Imtiaz said that tent pegging is a traditional and cultural sport of Pakistan and Punjab Constabulary organises such events every year for its promotion. He said that holding sports events promotes physical fitness and positive activities among youth.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem appreciated the organisers for the successful conduct of the event and lauded the performance of the participating teams, adding that the continuity of traditional sports competitions in Punjab should be maintained.
