The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday forecast rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in several upper parts of the country on Wednesday, with chances of heavy rainfall and hailstorms at isolated places, while hot and dry weather is expected to prevail in most other regions
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday forecast rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in several upper parts of the country on Wednesday, with chances of heavy rainfall and hailstorms at isolated places, while hot and dry weather is expected to prevail in most other regions.
According to the PMD, partly cloudy weather accompanied by rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms is likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Punjab during the evening and night hours.
Heavy falls and hailstorms may also occur at a few locations during the period.
The department said Islamabad and adjoining areas are expected to experience partly cloudy weather with rain, windstorms and thunderstorms, with chances of heavy rainfall and hailstorms at isolated places.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, scattered rain-thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds, heavy falls and hailstorms at some places, are likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Mohmand, Khyber, Waziristan, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Hangu and Kurram districts.
Punjab is also expected to receive scattered dust-thunderstorm rain in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Layyah, with the possibility of heavy rainfall and hailstorms at isolated locations.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The PMD said very hot and dry weather would continue in most districts of Sindh. However, dust-thunderstorms and rain are likely in upper Sindh, including Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur and Shaheed Benazirabad.
In Balochistan, mainly hot and dry weather is expected across most districts, while southern parts are likely to remain very hot.
Partly cloudy conditions with rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Kohlu, Musakhel and Khuzdar.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also expected to witness partly cloudy weather with rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms may occur at isolated places in Kashmir.
During the last 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while plain areas remained very hot.
However, isolated rain-thunderstorms were reported in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
The rainfall recorded included 07 mm in Rawalakot, 03 mm in Kakul and 02 mm in Parachinar.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded in the country were 48C in Nokundi and Sibi, followed by 47C in Dalbandin and 45C in Dadu.
