Rally, cultural events planned to commemorate Bunyan-um-Marsoos

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) A meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Bahawalpur under the chairmanship of Syed Hassan Raza to review arrangements for commemorating one year of “Bunyan-um-Marsoos (Battle of Truth)".

The meeting focused on devising a comprehensive strategy to celebrate the foundation day in a grand and dignified manner.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza said that “Battle of Truth” represents a historic military achievement of Pakistan and will always be remembered as a symbol of safeguarding national security and delivering a decisive response to enemy aggression. He stated that large-scale celebrations would be organized across the district to mark the first anniversary of this major national success. He announced that Bahawalpur city would be decorated “like a bride” for the occasion. Roads, major intersections, and important public places will be adorned with national flags and buntings, while buildings, homes, commercial centers, and main squares will be illuminated with colorful decorative lights during the night.

Representatives of various trader associations participating in the meeting presented suggestions for decorating shops, plazas, and shopping centers and assured the administration of their full cooperation.

The Deputy Commissioner further announced that a grand central “Battle of Truth” rally would be organised at the district level on May 9. He directed that public and private educational institutions should arrange special ceremonies, seminars, speech competitions, national songs, and other patriotic programs to educate the younger generation about national history and the sacrifices made for the country. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Dr. Ayesha Khan, Assistant Commissioner City Iqra Mubeen, officials from the education Department, Higher Education (Colleges), Police, Municipal Corporation, Rescue 1122, and other relevant departments, along with representatives of trader organizations and the Central Milad Mustafa Committee.
