Ramazan relief measures fortified, zero tolerance enforced against profiteering: DC

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir said that the district administration had strengthened Ramazan relief measures by intensifying efforts and enforcing zero tolerance policy against profiteering and artificial price inflation to provide maximum relief to citizens during Ramazan.

He conducted a detailed inspection of Ramazan Suhulat Bazaar Jhang Road and reviewed arrangements to ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted access to essential commodities. He said that his daily monitoring of all three Ramazan Suhulat Bazaars across the city would continue to maintain discipline and quality standards. He directed the price control magistrates to strictly implement official rate lists and take immediate action against the violations.

He said that no one engaging in hoarding or artificial price hikes would be spared rather the violators would face legal action and heavy fines in addition to sealing of shops and closure of warehouses involved in malpractice.

He said that Ramazan Sahulat Bazaars are offering 16 essential commodities including chicken, flour, sugar, besan, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, bottle gourd, garlic, lemons, chickpeas, apples, bananas, dates, guavas, and melons at rates 10-15 per cent below the market prices under a special subsidy programme.

Availability of quality and affordable food items for the citizens is the top priority of district administration which is fully committed to curb exploitation and support the masses during the holy month of Ramazan, he added.
