Rana Sanaullah calls for elimination of terrorist safe havens on Afghan soil

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said that eliminating terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan is essential for ensuring lasting peace in the region.

Speaking to a private television channel, he stated that Afghan soil has been used for carrying out terrorist activities in Pakistan. He added that Pakistan had shared evidence with Afghan authorities, but effective measures had not been taken to dismantle terrorist training camps and safe havens.

Rana Sanaullah emphasized that Pakistan would continue its operations until terrorism is completely eradicated from the region.

Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said the party is reluctant to engage in dialogue with other political groups. He stressed that holding talks with political parties is the only viable way forward for PTI to resolve political issues.

Responding to a question, he said that the sons of PTI’s founder have the right to meet their father in jail.
