KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police, acting on intelligence, carried out a joint operation in Daryaabad, Lyari, and arrested a suspect involved in extortion.
According to a Rangers spokesperson on Wednesday, the arrested accused was identified as Nasir alias Nana, son of Taj Muhammad.
During initial interrogation, the suspect disclosed that he, along with an accomplice, had sent an extortion slip demanding Rs1.2 million along with two 30-bore bullets to a citizen, a rent-a-car owner, through a motorcycle-based cab service.
He further revealed that he later made threatening calls via WhatsApp, warning the victim of dire consequences, including death threats, if the demanded amount was not paid.
A case regarding the incident had been registered at the relevant police station.
Raids are being conducted to arrest his other accomplices involved in the crime.
The arrested suspect has been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
