Rare peregrine falcon released back into wild in Swabi

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) A rare peregrine falcon was released back into its natural habitat after successful rehabilitation in Swabi district.

The release took place under the supervision of Additional Assistant Commissioner Topi, Dr. Yameen Sana, along with the wildlife team during a special operation in Tehsil Topi.

According to a statement issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Swabi, the bird had earlier been rescued and was subsequently provided complete care and rehabilitation by wildlife experts. After regaining full health, it was set free to resume its natural life in the wild.

Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner said the district administration is taking serious measures for the protection of wildlife and such operations will continue in the future.

The public was also urged to play an active role in the conservation of rare birds and wildlife.
