The district administration Rawalpindi held an important meeting to finalize arrangements for the One-Day International (ODI) match between Pak and Australia at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium during the Australian cricket team’s tour of Pakistan
RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The district administration Rawalpindi held an important meeting to finalize arrangements for the One-Day International (ODI) match between Pak and Australia at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium during the Australian cricket team’s tour of Pakistan.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General ADCG Rawalpindi, Maliha Sahar, and attended by officials from law enforcement agencies, traffic police, Rescue 1122, the Health Department, Municipal Corporation, and other relevant departments.
Prior to the meeting, ADCG Maliha Sahar, along with officers of the district administration and concerned departments, conducted a detailed visit to the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. During the inspection, they reviewed entry and exit points, security measures, spectator facilities, media boxes, parking areas, and emergency response points.
The meeting decided that foolproof security arrangements would be ensured for the visiting Australian team, match officials, players, and cricket fans. Relevant departments were directed to implement a modern and coordinated security plan to effectively deal with any untoward situation.
Officials briefing the meeting on traffic management said that a special traffic plan was being prepared to minimize inconvenience for citizens during the match.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The plan includes alternate traffic routes, parking arrangements, and deployment of additional personnel to maintain smooth traffic flow. A traffic advisory will also be issued for public guidance.
Regarding municipal services, authorities were instructed to improve cleanliness, waste management, street lighting, and drainage arrangements in and around the stadium. Concerned officers were directed to complete all arrangements before the match and submit compliance reports.
Rescue 1122 and the Health Department were directed to remain on high alert, while special medical camps, ambulances, and emergency teams will be deployed inside and outside the stadium to provide immediate medical assistance.
The meeting also emphasized providing maximum facilities to cricket fans, including clean drinking water, hygienic washrooms, efficient entry gate management, special arrangements for women and families, and effective crowd management strategies.
Speaking on the occasion, ADCG Maliha Sahar said that the peaceful, secure, and successful conduct of the international cricket match was the district administration’s top priority. She added that all relevant departments were working in close coordination to project Pakistan’s positive image at national and international levels and to ensure the best possible environment for cricket fans.
