Rawalpindi Police bust 14 gangs of 33 suspects; recover stolen vehicles, valuables

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) The Rawalpindi Police, during their intensified crackdown, have busted some 14 criminal gangs involved in robbery, theft, snatching and housebreaking, apprehending 33 suspects and recovering stolen vehicles, cash, livestock and weapons in a series of operations across the district.

According to a police spokesman on Wednesday, the Saddar Division Police arrested 29 accused belonging to 10 gangs, recovering a snatched car, 20 stolen motorcycles, cash amounting to Rs761,800, livestock valued at Rs550,000, along with mobile phones and weapons.

Giving a breakdown, the spokesman said the Saddar Barooni Police held 16 suspects of four gangs and recovered the Rs4 million worth snatched car, four stolen motorcycles and Rs148,000 in cash.

The Rawat Police rounded up six suspects of three gangs, seizing 16 stolen motorcycles and Rs166,300, while the Kallar Syedan Police apprehended a two-member gang, recovering a stolen goat worth Rs50,000 and Rs20,000 in cash.

Similarly, the Chauntra Police nabbed a three-member gang and recovered a stolen goat worth Rs100,000, Rs18,500 in cash, mobile phones and weapons with ammunition. The Jatli Police also arrested a two-member gang and recovered stolen cattle - a cow and a calf - worth Rs400,000 along with Rs409,000 in cash.

Separately, four suspects of three gangs involved in robbery and motorcycle and rickshaw theft were netted in operations conducted by police stations in other divisions, with five stolen motorcycles and a rickshaw recovered, along with Rs23,500 and weapons.

The Sadiqabad Police apprehended a two-member gang, recovering two stolen motorcycles, cash and weapons.

The RA Bazar Police arrested a suspect, seizing a stolen rickshaw, while the Morgah Police detained another suspect and recovered three stolen motorcycles.
