Rawalpindi RPO chairs monthly regional police coordination meeting

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Mar, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani on Tuesday chaired the monthly Regional Police Coordination Committee meeting, attended in person by unit heads and via video link by district police officers.

The session reviewed law and order, crime prevention, and overall policing effectiveness across the Rawalpindi Region.

Special focus was placed on the security of Chinese nationals deployed on CPEC and non-CPEC projects, as well as the protection of sensitive locations and key installations.

RPO Hamdani, who is also City Police Officer Rawalpindi, directed senior officers to personally supervise security at inter-provincial and riverine checkpoints.

He called for a stricter crackdown on individuals holding fake visas or identity cards and instructed the effective utilisation of Hotel-I and Travel-I software.

The CPO emphasised uncompromising action against violations of the Tenancy Act.

The meeting also stressed enhancing the speed and efficiency of searches, combing operations, intelligence-led actions, and snap checking. Daily security checks at Chinese projects and other critical installations were mandated.

CPO Hamdani directed that suspects in cases with incomplete challans be apprehended, while senior officers personally oversee investigations of serious crimes, ensuring offenders are prosecuted based on solid evidence.

He underlined that the Rawalpindi Region Police are deploying all available resources to protect citizens’ lives and property. The establishment of the Regional Police Coordination Committee has further strengthened inter-agency coordination and improved overall policing standards, contributing to enhanced law and order in the region, he added.
