RCCI Trade delegation explores bilateral trade opportunities in US

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has concluded a successful trade delegation visit to Washington, D.C., underscoring a new chapter in Pakistan–U.S. economic cooperation.

Led by RCCI President Usman Shaukat, the delegation held high-level meetings with U.S. government officials, policymakers, and prominent business institutions to identify priority sectors and explore new avenues for bilateral trade and investment.

During the visit, the delegation engaged with officials from the United States Department of State and the United States Department of Commerce to discuss collaboration in high-growth industries. Key meetings with U.S. lawmakers Tom Suozzi and Chris Van Hollen focused on enhancing legislative support and promoting trade in sectors such as rare earth minerals, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and information and communications technology (ICT).

At the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., the delegation met Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and Minister (Trade & Investment) Mohammad Hanif Channa, highlighting the role of private-sector diplomacy in strengthening economic ties and facilitating cross-border partnerships.

Further engagements included discussions with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, and the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. These meetings explored joint ventures, investment opportunities, and the establishment of sister-chamber partnerships to institutionalise long-term collaboration.

RCCI’s delegation visit signals a strategic commitment to deepening Pakistan–U.S. trade relations and leveraging private-sector initiatives to drive sustainable economic growth.
