RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has removed illegal encroachments along Girja Road, clearing the route for smooth traffic flow and public convenience as part of its ongoing citywide enforcement drive.
Acting on the directions of the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General RDA, Engineer Aamir Khattak, the RDA Enforcement Squad carried out an operation against unauthorised structures and illegal occupations, an RDA spokesman said.
He said all encroachments were dismantled during the operation, restoring the road and facilitating the uninterrupted movement of traffic.
The drive also aimed at retrieving valuable state land from illegal possession and improving access for citizens.
The spokesman said the action was taken after completing all legal formalities, adding that indiscriminate and sustained operations would continue across the city to eliminate unlawful occupation of public land.
He said the director general had directed RDA officers to maintain strict vigilance and continue effective action against encroachments to improve urban management and provide better civic facilities to the public.
