RDA moves to re-auction parking plazas, shops to boost revenue & public participation

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has initiated preparations for the re-auction of its parking plazas and commercial shops, aimed at maximising public participation and revenue generation.

Presiding over a meeting of the price Assessment Committee at the RDA conference room, the Director of Estate Management, Maleeha Iesar, said the lease agreements for several RDA-owned parking plazas and shops were nearing expiry.

She briefed the participants on the geographical locations of the properties, reviewed prevailing auction rates and sought recommendations from committee members regarding reserve prices for the upcoming re-auction.

Director of Finance Masood informed the meeting about the auction criteria under the relevant rules and regulations and stressed the need to fix reserve prices at a level that would encourage broader participation.

Director of Administration, Nousheen Israr, said renovation and improvement works at the plazas were underway to enhance the value of the properties and maximise auction revenue.

The committee subsequently approved reserve prices for the re-auction of the properties and revised parking charges for motorcycles, auto-rickshaws and other vehicles with a view to increasing public participation.

The meeting was convened on the directives of the Director General of RDA and Commissioner Rawalpindi Amir Khattak to promote citizen-centric facilitation and further improve the authority’s public image.

Deputy Director Administration Ayesha Badar, Deputy Director Estate Management Abdul Rehman Saleem, Assistant Director Estate Management Khawar Saleem, Assistant Director Land Development Shoaib Ahmad Khan and Assistant Director Engineering Aslam were also present.
