PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) Amid reports of internal differences and reservations among some members of the PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has intensified efforts to restore the party and address concerns within the party ranks.
According to party sources on Sunday, as part of this initiative, the Chief Minister paid a late-night visit to the residence of Provincial Assembly member and District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) Chairman for Khyber District, Abdul Ghani Afridi.
The two leaders held detailed discussions on the prevailing political situation, party affairs and development issues related to Khyber District.
The sources said some lawmakers had expressed concerns over not being included in the provincial cabinet, with Abdul Ghani Afridi reportedly among those who had reservations.
To address these concerns and maintain party cohesion, the chief minister has also contacted several lawmakers through telephone in recent days.
Sources further stated that the party’s central leadership has directed Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to engage dissatisfied members and provide them with appropriate political and administrative roles to ensure that governance and party discipline remain unaffected.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Speaking after the meeting, Abdul Ghani Afridi described the discussion as positive and constructive. He said that he and the chief minister exchanged views on public issues, development projects and welfare initiatives in Khyber District.
He added that various proposals aimed at improving basic public services, accelerating development schemes and resolving local issues were discussed and practical progress on these matters is expected soon.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing development activities, infrastructure projects, public services and other matters of mutual interest in the district.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating development efforts and improving public service delivery for the people of Khyber District.
