Record holder dacoit injured in shootout

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) A dacoit involved in 14 cases of dacoity and robbery sustained bullet injuries in a police encounter near here on Thursday.

According to a police spokesperson, Nishatabad police were taking the accused, Amir Ali, for recovery near Munda Pind when his accomplices attacked the police party and managed to free him.

Police retaliated, and during the exchange of fire, the fleeing accused Amir Ali sustained bullet injuries.

He was arrested by police and shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, four accomplices who attacked the police party managed to escape from the scene.

Police said further legal action had been initiated.
