LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) To reduce the Punjab Police expenses, the petrol quota for officers' vehicles has significantly been reduced.
The petrol for the vehicles of Additional IGs posted in the IG office has been reduced from 500 to 150 liters, while the quota for DIG rank officers has been reduced from 400 to 150 liters.
Similarly, the petrol for AIG rank officers has also been reduced from 300 liters to 150 liters.
According to Punjab Police sources, the IGP Punjab has issued instructions to all RPOs to reduce the number of squad vehicles.
In Lahore Police, petrol has also been cut for officers, where petrol for DIGs and SSPs has been reduced from 800 to 600 liters, divisional SPs from 600 to 450 liters and DSPs from 400 to 300 liters.
Furthermore, petrol for squad vehicles along with officers has also been reduced from 300 to 150 liters, however, no reduction has been made in petrol for police station vehicles so that field operations are not affected.
