Rejection of video appearance plea challenged

LAHORE:

Provincial Minister Azma Bukhari has challenged a judicial magistrate's order rejecting her application to appear in court through a video link instead of in person.

Through her counsel, Ali Bukhari, the minister filed an appeal before the sessions court, arguing that the magistrate's February 10 order was contrary to the facts and circumstances of the case.

In the appeal, it was contended that Uzma Bukhari, being a serving provincial minister, faces security threats and therefore sought exemption from personal appearance.
