NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) Chairman District Zakat and Ushr Committee, Shaheed Benazirabad, Chaudhry Zafar Hussain Arain, has said that delivering financial assistance to deserving people brings inner peace and that fulfilling the rights of others is among the highest forms of worship.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where relief cheques were distributed among beneficiaries. District Zakat Officer Abdul Latif Channar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Chaudhry Zafar Hussain Arain said that effective measures are being taken to ensure fair and transparent distribution of Zakat funds. He appealed to journalists, social media activists, and citizens to guide so that assistance can reach genuine beneficiaries at their doorstep in a transparent and Sharia-compliant manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Latif Channar said that a total of Rs 828,250 is being distributed among students of five registered religious seminaries in the district.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said that 132 applications were received under the marriage grant scheme, out of which 66 cases were approved after thorough scrutiny. Each approved beneficiary will receive Rs 30,000.
He said that financial assistance cheques are also being distributed to deserving individuals under other welfare schemes. At the end of the ceremony, Chaudhry Zafar Hussain Arain apologized for delays in the current distribution process due to certain legal formalities, assuring that no such delays would occur in future welfare programs.
He also advised beneficiaries not to pay any money or offer gifts to anyone, including officials of the District Zakat Office or local committee chairmen. He urged them to immediately report any such demands and to help identify other deserving individuals in their areas so they can be included in assistance programs.
