DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2026) Rescue 1122 on Sunday has issued an alert across the district in anticipation of upcoming monsoon rains and has completed emergency preparedness measures at sensitive along the Indus River.
According to details, on the directives of Director General Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Fahad, Director Operations South Arif Khattak, and District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan, rescue teams have been deployed at various picnic spots and vulnerable locations along the Indus River.
The teams are equipped with rescue boats, life jackets, and other essential equipment to ensure an immediate response to any untoward incident.
District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan stated that an increase in river water levels was expected due to monsoon rains.
In view of this, all personnel have been placed on alert and instructed to perform their duties with professionalism and responsibility, he said.
He urged the citizens to adopt precautionary measures during recreational activities, avoid unsafe areas along riverbanks, and keep a close watch on children. In case of any emergency, the public has been advised to immediately contact the Rescue 1122 helpline, he told.
Rescue officials added that these measures aim to ensure timely response to potential incidents during the monsoon season and to safeguard human lives.
