Rescue 1122 makes massive emergency cover plan for Muharram

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has rolled out a comprehensive district-wide emergency cover plan for Muharram-ul-Haram, deploying hundreds of rescuers, dozens of ambulances and fire vehicles, and more than 50 rescue posts to ensure prompt response and uninterrupted emergency services during majalis and mourning processions across Faisalabad.

The emergency arrangements were finalized during a meeting held at the District Headquarters Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Faisalabad with District Emergency Officer Engineer (DEO) Ehtesham Wahla in the chair.

Rescue officers, station incharges and media coordinators were also present on the occasion and they reviewed preparedness measures and operational strategies for the holy month.

Speaking on the occasion, DEO Engineer Ehtesham Wahla said that Rescue 1122 has activated a detailed emergency rescue cover plan to provide timely and quality emergency services to mourners and the general public.

He directed all officers and rescuers to perform their duties with dedication, professionalism and vigilance to ensure a safe environment during Muharram observances.

He said that more than 50 rescue posts have been established at Imambargahs, majalis venues and procession routes throughout the district. Ambulances, fire vehicles and other rescue resources would remain stationed near major religious sites and sensitive locations to respond immediately to any emergency situation, he added.

He said that complete rescue cover would be provided to all Category-A and Category-B majalis and processions. Special rescue camps would be set up along procession routes and at important points while mobile rescue posts would accompany mourning processions to ensure uninterrupted emergency response services, he added.

Providing details of the deployment, he said that 37 ambulances, 15 fire vehicles, several specialized rescue vehicles, 120 motorbike ambulances, around 700 rescuers and rescue officers, and more than 100 Rescue Scouts would remain on duty during Muharram to effectively tackle any emergency situation.

DEO Engineer Wahla emphasized that Muharram teaches patience, sacrifice, tolerance and service to humanity.

He urged all Rescue 1122 personnel to discharge their professional responsibilities with a spirit of public service and complete preparedness during the holy month.

He further directed rescuers to remain on high alert during majalis and mourning processions, maintain close coordination with all relevant departments and ensure immediate response to emergencies so that mourners could be provided with safe, efficient and high-quality emergency services throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
