Rescue 1122 observes Earth Hour, switches off unnecessary lights

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2026) Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) observed Earth Hour across the district by switching off unnecessary lights at all rescue stations.

District Emergency Officer Engineer Ehtesham Wahla said here on Sunday that unnecessary lights at the Central Rescue Station as well as all other rescue stations across the district were turned off for one hour to effectively participate in the global environmental campaign.

He said that clear instructions were issued to the rescue staff to avoid using non-essential lights during the scheduled hour so that the initiative could be observed in its true spirit.

He said that main objective of observing Earth Hour was to promote environmental protection, highlight the importance of efficient energy use and create public awareness about climate change.

He emphasized that reducing unnecessary use of energy could not only help conserve resources but also significantly reduce environmental pollution. Small but meaningful steps could lead to positive results in protecting the environment, he added.

He also appealed the general public to become part of the campaign by ensuring careful use of electricity and other resources in their daily lives.

The message of Earth Hour was that every individual had an important role to play in creating a clean, safe and environmentally friendly society, he added.
