Rescue 1122 provides extensive Ashura emergency cover in Chiniot, treats 441 mourners

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) Rescue 1122 mounted a comprehensive emergency response across Chiniot during Ashura, deploying more than 200 officers and personnel to ensure the safety of mourners participating in processions and religious gatherings. The operation was supervised by District Emergency Officer Tahira Khan, who oversaw emergency arrangements throughout the district.

To provide swift medical and rescue services, Rescue 1122 stationed 10 ambulances, five fire vehicles, 45 rescue motorbikes, one rescue vehicle, 16 rescue posts, and four medical camps at key locations. The extensive deployment enabled emergency teams to respond promptly to incidents and provide uninterrupted medical assistance during Ashura observances.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, a total of 441 mourners received first aid at the scene, while 35 individuals requiring advanced medical treatment were shifted to nearby hospitals after initial care.

Separately, rescue teams responded to routine emergencies across the district, rescuing 80 people. Of these, 55 were treated on-site, while 25 were transported to hospitals for further treatment.

District Emergency Officer Tahira Khan, while exclusively talking to APP, commended the dedication and professionalism of Rescue 1122 officers and personnel, praising their coordinated efforts in ensuring a safe and efficient emergency response during Ashura. She said the successful operation reflected the department's commitment to protecting lives and delivering prompt assistance during major public events.
