RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi has been put on high alert in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, deploying emergency personnel to low-lying and vulnerable areas to ensure a swift response to any untoward situation.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson, special teams have been deployed along Nullah Lai and in flood-prone localities, including Katarian, Gawalmandi, and other low-lying areas.
Rescue personnel will remain on continuous patrolling and monitoring duty during the rain spell to provide immediate assistance to residents if required.
Rescue authorities have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains and strictly follow safety precautions. Parents have been advised not to allow children near Nullah Lai, seasonal streams, or electricity poles during rainfall.

The emergency service further cautioned the public against seeking shelter under weak or dilapidated buildings and roofs. People have been advised not to attempt crossing flowing streams or flooded waterways. In light of the risks of heavy rainfall, landslides, and possible cloudbursts, tourists have also been urged to avoid visiting vulnerable recreational and mountainous areas.
Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi appealed to the public to immediately contact the emergency helpline 1122 in case of any emergency, accident, or need for assistance so that prompt rescue operations can be carried out.
