CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) Rescue 1122 has established six flood relief camps across Chiniot district as a precautionary measure amid rising water levels in the Chenab River, with emergency teams and equipment placed on standby to respond to any flood-related incidents.

The relief camps have been set up at TDCP Point Lalian, Bakhsh Wala Lalian, Burj Omar Chiniot, Mian Wal Chiniot, Mouza Sahmal Bhuana and Jamiaabad Bhuana. Officials said each camp has been equipped with rescue personnel, boats, ambulances and other emergency resources to ensure a swift response if the flood situation deteriorates.

In this regard on Thursday, District Emergency Officer Tahira Khan, while exclusively talking to APP, said all Rescue 1122 teams remain on high alert and are continuously monitoring the river's water level. She said the department is fully prepared to launch rescue and evacuation operations whenever required.

Rescue 1122 urged residents to avoid going near rivers, canals and floodwaters, keep children away from riverbanks and immediately report any emergency by calling the Rescue 1122 helpline. Authorities said precautionary measures would remain in place until the flood threat subsides.
