RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Rescue 1122 successfully responded to 513 emergency incidents across Rawalpindi district during May 27 and 28 as part of its special Eid-ul-Azha emergency operation, rescuing a total of 464 citizens.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson, a comprehensive emergency plan was implemented throughout the district to ensure prompt and effective rescue services during Eid-ul-Azha.
All rescue stations, control rooms, ambulance services, fire and rescue units, and medical teams remained on high alert throughout the holiday period.
Special rescue deployments were also made at Eid congregations, recreational spots, sacrificial animal markets, and major highways to deal with any untoward situation without delay.
Statistics released by the department showed that the highest number of incidents involved medical emergencies, with 294 cases reported. Patients and injured persons were provided first aid and shifted to various hospitals for further treatment.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>In addition, Rescue 1122 responded to 107 traffic accidents, rescuing and assisting the injured in a timely manner. The department also handled 30 fire incidents, 23 cases of falls from height, 15 crime-related emergencies, and 13 other rescue operations.
Officials further stated that one drowning incident was successfully managed, with rescuers safely recovering the affected individual.
During Eid gatherings and public activities, Rescue 1122 provided special emergency cover for 22 mass events to ensure public safety. Furthermore, eight animal rescue operations related to sacrificial animals were also carried out successfully.
Citizens were urged to follow traffic regulations, avoid leaving children unattended near canals, dams, and other water bodies, and immediately contact the Rescue 1122 helpline in case of any emergency.
