Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) Rescue 1122 teams launched dewatering operations in several low-lying areas of Dera Ismail Khan after heavy rainfall during the night, officials said on Saturday.
Acting on the instructions of District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan, rescue personnel were deployed to remove accumulated rainwater from affected areas to reduce public hardship and help restore normal routine.
A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said teams remained active in multiple locations, particularly in Rangpur, where water was cleared from a mosque, a public square, government girls’ middle and Primary schools, and several streets.
Rescue workers carried out timely operations to ensure drainage and minimize disruption for residents.
Authorities confirmed that all staff have been directed to remain on high alert to handle any emergency situation.
Meanwhile, in light of ongoing rains, Rescue 1122 teams have also been positioned at key locations in FR Drazinda, including Zam Bridge and other water channels, under the supervision of the district emergency officer.
Officials said rescue personnel have been deployed at sensitive points to monitor water flow from nearby hills and respond promptly if needed.
Citizens have been advised to exercise caution during bad weather and avoid unnecessary movement near rivers and waterways.
