Research, innovation at botany exhibition lauded

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Encouraging students to pursue scientific inquiry, research and innovation, Vice Chancellor

of Women University Multan, Prof. Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool, said that practical experimentation

and innovative thinking were essential for sustainable development and societal progress.

She expressed these views while visiting a student project exhibition organized by the Department

of Botany at the university’s Matital Campus. During the visit, she reviewed scientific models,

research projects and practical assignments prepared by students and commended their creativity,

research aptitude and academic excellence.

The Vice Chancellor said the projects reflected the university’s commitment to quality education

and research-based learning. She observed that the exhibits highlighted both the students’ potential

and the guidance provided by faculty members.

Referring to global challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity loss,

Dr. Batool stressed the importance of engaging young people in scientific research. She said the field

of Botany plays a vital role in environmental sustainability, agricultural development and natural resource conservation.

She reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing research-oriented education, modern laboratory

facilities and opportunities for scientific innovation to help students compete at national and international levels.

Earlier, Chairperson Department of Botany Dr. Abida Aziz briefed the Vice Chancellor on the department’s academic, research and practical training activities.

At the conclusion of visit, Dr. Batool expressed satisfaction with the department’s overall performance

and praised both faculty members and students for their academic and research contributions.
