BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jul, 2026) Member of the Punjab Assembly Sadia Bilal has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and former premier, Nawaz Sharif, sitting Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz for issuing directions to restore operations at Bahawalpur Airport.

In a press release issued here, she stated that, as a result of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's special interest and directives, the important decision to resume operations at Bahawalpur Airport has been made. According to her, this was a long-standing demand of the people of South Punjab, particularly the residents of Bahawalpur.

She added that the restoration of airport operations will not only improve air travel facilities but will also promote trade, economic development, and tourism across the region.

Sadia Bilal further said that she had previously submitted a resolution in the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab calling for the restoration of Bahawalpur Airport. The resolution was unanimously passed by the House. She also thanked all members of the Provincial Assembly for their cooperation in resolving this important public issue.
