Revenue official arrested on bribery charges

A team of Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khanewal on Tuesday arrested a revenue official in a trap raid while receiving Rs 50,000 as illegal gratification as Water Rate (Aaiyana)

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) A team of Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khanewal on Tuesday arrested a revenue official in a trap raid while receiving Rs 50,000 as illegal gratification as Water Rate (Aaiyana).

The raid was ordered by Regional Director ACE Multan, Basharat Nabi, in line with the standing instructions of Director General ACE Punjab, Sohail Zafar Chattha, aimed at tightening noose around corrupt elements and bring them to justice without delay.

Circle Officer ACE Khanewal Sajid Ali and staff, under the supervision of a magistrate, conducted raid and arrested Patwari Waqar Ahmed red-handed while accepting a bribe.

Marked Currency notes were recovered from the accused at the spot, providing concrete evidence of the crime.

Basharat Nabi emphasized the need for officers to enhance their performance and take decisive actions to eliminate corruption. He instructed that immediate trap raids should be conducted wherever corruption is reported.
