Revenue officials monitor bus stands, markets across DIKhan

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) The district administration of Dera Ismail Khan has intensified monitoring activities across the district to ensure implementation of officially notified transport fares following the reduction in petroleum product prices and to facilitate citizens.

On the directives of the district administration, revenue field staff conducted visits to various bus terminals across the city and reviewed compliance with government-approved fare lists.

During the inspections, officials interacted with passengers and examined complaints regarding overcharging by transport operators. Bus drivers and transporters were strictly instructed to adhere to the officially notified fares and refrain from charging passengers in excess of the prescribed rates.

The administration warned that legal action would be taken against violators found involved in overcharging commuters.

Meanwhile, revenue officials also inspected various markets and shops to review the prices of essential food items and assess compliance with government regulations.

During the visits, shopkeepers were directed to prominently display official price lists, avoid the sale of expired products, and ensure adequate availability of food items at government-prescribed rates. The officials also emphasized strict action against hoarding and profiteering to protect consumers' interests.

The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public convenience and maintaining effective monitoring of transport fares and market prices across the district.
