Rise in beggars noted across Faisalabad during eid

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2026) A significant increase in beggars was observed across Faisalabad during Eid-ul-Fitr, as men,women and children moved through streets, bazaars,parks and public areas seeking “Eidi” from festival-goers.

Large groups of beggars gathered outside Eidgahs and mosques after prayers, while many physically challenged and elderly individuals positioned themselves at busy chowks, traffic signals, and shopping areas. Some went door-to-door in residential neighborhoods.

Observers noted the rise highlighted socioeconomic challenges faced by vulnerable communities and called for organized welfare and rehabilitation programs to reduce dependency on alms.

Despite the surge,the city’s festive atmosphere remained vibrant with citizens celebrating with generosity and compassion.
