PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) here Sunday hosted an awareness seminar in collaboration with Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation (PCHF) on congenital heart disease.
The event brought together a distinguished group of attendees, including RMI Chairman Dr. Muhammad Rehman, CEO Shafiq-ur-Rehman, and PCHF CEO Farhan Ahmed, alongside renowned cardiologists, surgeons, and various public figures.
The gathering highlighted a sobering statistic: approximately one in every 100 children born in Pakistan suffers from a congenital heart defect, making timely medical intervention a critical necessity for survival.

These procedures, which often involve complex open-heart surgery and costs reaching millions of rupees, are provided entirely free of charge for families in need.
?The event also featured former Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who lauded the initiative for its profound impact on both individual lives and broader community.
He said that such charitable efforts do more than just save lives; they serve as a powerful message of hope and humanity.
