Robber killed in encounter

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) A robber was killed while his three accomplices managed to escape after

an encounter with Crime Control Department (CCD) teams in the area of

Raza Abad police station.

A police spokesman said on Tuesday that CCD teams led by Incharge CCD Lyallpur Division Inspector Hassan Siddique Cheema and SHO CCD Sub Inspector Farooq Nazir conducted a raid in Chak No 218-RB Prokianwala for the arrest of wanted suspects.

During operation, four armed men opened indiscriminate fire on the CCD teams.

The police retaliated, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the accused and law enforcement personnel.

As a result, CCD officials succeeded in apprehending one robber in an injured condition while his three accomplices escaped.

The accused was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment but in vain as he

succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the deceased as Aamir Glotar of Chiniot and he was an active member of an inter-district robbery gang. He was wanted in nearly two dozen criminal cases, including robbery, theft, highway robbery and other serious offences.
